After Granny's death, Madeline takes up the art of necromancy. This goes swimmingly and
has no unexpected consequences.
As my first real foray into mapping I made a farewell-length
map with a story and all? It's basically a rite of passage for modding to have a wildly unrealistic
scope for your first work but I think its pretty ridiculous that I followed through. I find it
really easy to poke holes in, but going back through it theres a lot of creativity
sprinkled through the map even if it's a bit rough around the edges. Give it a play if you don't
mind a bit of jank!
Having already fused with Badeline, Madeline joins together with her Other Other self, Frogeline,
granting her a third dash! (Disclaimer: This does not actually happen.)
As
much as I'd like to gloat about making the World's First Triple Dash Map, I'm not actually that
original; I think I got the idea from the 3-dash refills in Solaris.
I couldn't decide what entity palette would best suit the idea so I just said fuck it, all of 'em.
Frummit is easily my most popular map, and I'm super grateful to have eyes on my work, even if it
risks those eyes judging its sloppy deco. But ah well. Check it out for a spoonful of innovation!
If there's a BevWeb map that's getting slept on, it's this one. Fear of the Dark is full of one-tile corridors, crouch jumps and demos to match, and heavy darkness. For the lack of decoration it has a surprisingly strong sense of atmosphere, squeezing between dust bunnies so close you can barely see the gap between them. This map came about as I was playing Anarchy Collab; there was this map called Experiment 002 that had a super similar thing going that it kind of ditches halfway through. I took the idea, did more of it, took it a bit further than the original, and voila. Play it if you have a taste for the dark!
Oh, so you like Spring Collab, huh? Well any real fan would be all over Summer Collab! It was kind of an alternate reality Spring Collab, where there was like a remixed version of every map in that mod. Keyword, was. Maybe 10 out of 80 maps got made by some really talented mappers before the whole thing kinda just fell apart. Who keeps letting me be in charge of things? A dummy, probably, that's who. My contribution was Crazy Cycles, inspired by the iconic Cycle Madness, and I'm pretty proud of it. I included the backtrack berries from the original, and it's a fun challenge making gameplay that is reasonably possible backwards. Check it out if you're a resortpilled cyclecel!
A long while ago I heard this awesome delay lama song, and I could just imagine the perfect Celeste map to go with it. I didn't really do much with the idea, though, until late 2023 when I started working on my frictionless TAS, and I realised that frictionless gameplay would mesh perfectly with the vocaloid volcano map that I made up in my head. So I got to work, and yeah I was totally right this map is SO peak. The high momentum nature of frictionless goes amazingly with the energetic nature of the song, plus I get the chance to show off some fun quirks of frictionless. Technically FIRE TEMPLE isn't out yet, but keep an eye out for it if you like going fast as hell!
